Dr. Zhang is a Professor in the Department of Marine, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from the University of Iowa and a B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from Tsinghua University, China. Dr. Zhang specializes in 3-D numerical modeling and theoretical study of energy- and health-relevant air pollutants and their environmental and health impacts. Her research is highly interdisciplinary and covers a wide spectrum of topics from local to global scales. Dr. Zhang authored or co-authored over 160 peer-reviewed journal publications. The number of her publication citations from the ISI Web of Sciences is over 5600 and the h-index is 39. Dr. Zhang was a recipient of the U.S. NSF Career Award in Atmospheric Chemistry in 2004 and several international fellowship and scholarship awards in 2010 and 2017.

主讲内容:
Air quality and climate modeling research at North Carolina State University (NCSU) spans from urban air pollution to regional/global climate changes, with recent extension to Earth system modeling and health impacts of air pollutants. This seminar will highlight major research activities and recent progress for global-through-local scale modeling of air pollutants and associated health impacts at NCSU. Results from several global and regional atmospheric/Earth system models such as CESM/CAM5 and WRF/Chem as well as health models such as BENMAP will be used to demonstrate the current capabilities and major challenges in simulating air quality, climate, and their interplay as well as the health impacts of key air pollutants. Future research opportunities and directions will also be discussed.
北卡州立大学的空气质量和天气模子研究横跨都会空气质量和区域/全球天气转变领域,近年来又延伸至地球系统模拟和空气污染康健影响领域。本讲座主要先容Zhang教授团队近期在全球-局地标准空气质量模拟及其康健影响方面的研究希望。主要内容包括空气质量和天气模拟的相互作用以及空气污染康健影响研究的已有用果和面临的挑战。接纳的模拟效果来自CESM/CAM5、WRF/Chem等多个全球/区域大气和地球系统模子,以及BENMAP等康健模子。该领域未来研究偏向和机缘也会予以讨论。
