主讲人简介:
Sharon P. Shoemaker, Ph.D. is founding executive director of the California Institute of Food and Agricultural Research (CIFAR), Advisory Board Member with Global HealthShare® and a member of the Global Centers’ Faculty Advisory Committee at the University of California, Davis. She is also a visiting professor at Beijing’s Advanced Innovation Center for Food Nutrition and Human Health at BTBU, and at Dalian Polytechnic University in China. She is co-Editor-in-Chief of npj: Science of Foods.
CIFAR, founded in 1991, is a global network and innovation hub in integrated agri-food systems technologies. Prior to joining UC Davis, she was a pioneering scientist in cellulosic enzymes and lignocellulosic conversion and biosynthesis with the biotechnology industry.
Shoemaker has been highly active in China since her first trip in 1985. With multiple trips per year, now totaling over 55, she has developed trusted relationships in both academia and industry in China. She advises the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST) and for her impact, received CIFST’s Friendship Award in 2008. She was also recognized in 2010 by the Almond Board of California for her role in creating models to develop new products and markets in Asia. Shoemaker continues to facilitate scientific, commercial and educational exchange between California and China. She chairs the City of Davis, CA, USA – City of Wuxi (Huishan), Jiangsu, China sister city committee since she founded it in 2001.
